Temporary Visas

TYPES OF VISAS

Temporary visas allow entrance into the United States for specific purposes from 29 days to 5 years, depending on type of visa and relevant circumstances.  Visas are issued at U.S. Embassies abroad, but visa status can generally be changed after arrival in the U.S. in many situations.

Our office has successfully applied for visas for nonimmigrant clients around the world.  If there are issues of inadmissibility, waivers may be obtained in some situations.

RECENT NEW & REMANDS

Where the Immigration Judge got it wrong on first ruling

H2B Visas . REMAND . Employer Reimbursements . Employer is not liable for incoming transportation or employee side visa fees; H2B visaholders sued for reimbursement on these items as "tools of the trade." Trial judge agreed; CA5 disagreed. [Castellanos, CA5 October 1, 2010]
